Praxis Construction has partnered with Gorman Recruiting to fill a position for a Construction Foreman for Southern Indiana. The successful candidate will have residential kitchen and bathroom remodeling experience with excellent written and oral skills, and the ability to relate to the homeowners. The Construction Foreman will manage and control the assigned project. The position entails overseeing the project, site safety, schedule, quality and self-performing carpentry work required throughout the project. The individual selected for this position must have their own hand and power tools that may be required for various projects along with reliable transportation equipped with the required tools and a clean driving record.

 

About the Company:

Praxis Construction LLC is a small residential construction company in Boonville, Indiana. It opened its doors in 2006, specializing in residential kitchen remodel/restoration.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Coordinates and supervises all construction activities.
  • Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
  • Maintains construction schedule, identifies and solves problems.
  • Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process.
  • Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.
  • Prepares, schedules and supervises completion of a final punch list.
  • Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
  • Maintains an organized, neat and clean job site.
  • Mentor and train other employees as necessary.
  • Performs carpentry work as required throughout the duration of the project.

 

Qualifications

  • Self-starter with ability to set goals and tasks with strong leadership skills.
  • Displays strong written and oral communication skills and employs effective listening skills.
  • Ability to analyze problems and make sound decisions in a timely manner based on objectives, risks, implications and costs.
  • Tactful and mature demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with diverse personalities.
  • Considerable knowledge of rough and finish carpentry; tools, equipment, materials and safety practices of carpentry work; building techniques of new and remodel construction; masonry, concrete, and wood construction.
  • Some knowledge of supervisory practices.
  • Experience using and maintaining tools and equipment associated with carpentry; estimating time and materials needed for carpentry jobs; visualizing, sketching, and designing carpentry projects; reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing approximately 90 pounds, climb and work from ladders, bend, stoop, and work around wood dust and fumes, and in inclement weather.

High school or technical school diploma or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.

Salary will be based on experience.
